Oxygen Price in Pakistan (CIF) - 2022
The average oxygen import price stood at $0.2 per cubic meter in 2022, with an increase of 27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 81% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $0.3 per cubic meter in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($0.2 per cubic meter), while the price for Germany (less than $0.1 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+7.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Oxygen Imports in Pakistan
In 2022, purchases abroad of oxygen decreased by -5.8% to 2.8M cubic meters for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 2,379%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at 3M cubic meters in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, oxygen imports surged to $567K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 1,534% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
