Nucleic Acids Price in Thailand (CIF) - 2022

The average nucleic acids import price stood at $10,959 per ton in 2022, rising by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible decrease. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $15,611 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($38,813 per ton), while the price for China ($5,714 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Nucleic Acids Price in Thailand (FOB) - 2023

In July 2023, the average nucleic acids export price amounted to $4,215 per ton, reducing by -10.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 153% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $9,032 per ton. From May 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($5,853 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($1,882 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+14.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nucleic Acids Imports in Thailand

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of nucleic acids and their salts, when their volume decreased by -14.2% to 13K tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 40%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 15K tons, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, nucleic acids imports declined to $141M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 9% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $142M, leveling off in the following year.

Nucleic Acids Exports in Thailand

In 2022, approx. 905 tons of nucleic acids and their salts were exported from Thailand; almost unchanged from 2021 figures. In general, exports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 232%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 907 tons, leveling off in the following year.

In value terms, nucleic acids exports rose significantly to $4.4M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 169% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
