The average nucleic acids import price stood at $17,402 per ton in June 2023, shrinking by -35.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 69% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $31,076 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($116K per ton), while the price for Belgium ($2,932 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+23.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average nucleic acids export price amounted to $114,736 per ton, jumping by 34% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The export price peaked at $179,058 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($131,984 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($70,193 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+22.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Nucleic Acids Imports in Mexico
Nucleic acids imports into Mexico reduced slightly to 9.3K tons in 2022, approximately equating 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +10.0% over the last three years.
