Nucleic Acids Price in China (FOB) - 2023

In June 2023, the average nucleic acids export price amounted to $21,989 per ton, picking up by 15% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a mild curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 an increase of 20% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $26,526 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($49,274 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($3,982 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nucleic Acids Price in China (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average nucleic acids import price amounted to $41,041 per ton, increasing by 26% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 32% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $58,768 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($657,438 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($2,634 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+26.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Nucleic Acids Exports in China

In 2022, exports of nucleic acids and their salts from China rose to 212K tons, increasing by 2.8% against the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 21%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, nucleic acids exports amounted to $4.9B in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +62.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 30%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
