U.S. Nuclear Reactor Part Export Price per Ton in April 2022

In April 2022, the nuclear reactor part price per ton amounted to $68.2K (FOB, US), picking up by 55% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 an increase of 251% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $198.6K per ton. From March 2022 to April 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In April 2022, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($526.5K per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($2.7K per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to April 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+254.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

U.S. Nuclear Reactor Part Exports

In April 2022, approximately 61 tons of parts of nuclear reactors were exported from the United States; which is down by -21.8% on March 2022. Overall, exports saw a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 290% m-o-m. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 78 tons, and then shrank remarkably in the following month.

In value terms, nuclear reactor part exports soared to $4.2M (IndexBox estimates) in April 2022. The total export value increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2% from January 2022 to April 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

U.S. Nuclear Reactor Part Exports by Country

Canada (17 tons), Spain (16 tons) and South Korea (12 tons) were the main destinations of nuclear reactor part exports from the United States, with a combined 74% share of total exports.

From January 2022 to April 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by South Korea (with a CAGR of +144.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Mexico ($2.6M) remains the key foreign market for nuclear reactor part exports from the United States, comprising 63% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($577K), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Sweden, with an 11% share.

From January 2022 to April 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to Mexico totaled +1.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Spain (-14.0% per month) and Sweden (+181.5% per month).
