Non-Wheat Flour Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2023

The average non-wheat flour import price stood at $1,284 per ton in June 2023, increasing by 6.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 31% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,323 per ton in April 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($2,540 per ton), while the price for Austria ($634 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Serbia (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Non-Wheat Flour Price in Croatia (FOB) - 2022

The average non-wheat flour export price stood at $1,074 per ton in 2022, surging by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed moderate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 74%. The export price peaked at $1,518 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,691 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($218 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden (+88.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Non-Wheat Flour Imports in Croatia

In 2022, purchases abroad of non-wheat flours decreased by -25.9% to 3.8K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 87%.

In value terms, non-wheat flour imports declined dramatically to $4.9M in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 99% against the previous year.
