Non-Liquid Margarine Price in Uzbekistan (CIF) - 2023

In May 2023, the average non-liquid margarine import price amounted to $1,746 per ton, shrinking by -19.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 an increase of 11% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $2,281 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to May 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Russia ($1,853 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($1,335 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In May 2023, the average non-liquid margarine export price amounted to $719 per ton, dropping by -7.9% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 22% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $835 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to May 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Kyrgyzstan ($1,739 per ton), while the average price for exports to Tajikistan ($490 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkmenistan (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Non-Liquid Margarine Imports in Uzbekistan

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of non-liquid margarine decreased by -4.3% to 18K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 6.5%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 18K tons, and then declined modestly in the following year.

In value terms, non-liquid margarine imports soared to $33M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +57.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 35%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
