Non-Liquid Margarine Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2023
The average non-liquid margarine import price stood at $1,854 per ton in June 2023, with a decrease of -3.6% against the previous month. Over the period from June 2022 to June 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2022 an increase of 12% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,949 per ton in January 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2023.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Austria ($2,437 per ton) and Italy ($2,223 per ton), while the price for Germany ($1,644 per ton) and Poland ($1,782 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average non-liquid margarine export price amounted to $2,760 per ton, picking up by 5.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated notable growth from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, non-liquid margarine export price increased by +5.6% against May 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 81% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,961 per ton. From February 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($2,773 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hungary amounted to $2,039 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+3.0%).
Non-Liquid Margarine Imports in the Czech Republic
In 2022, imports of non-liquid margarine into the Czech Republic expanded remarkably to 43K tons, increasing by 6.7% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable slump.
In value terms, non-liquid margarine imports skyrocketed to $75M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +71.8% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-liquid margarine exports surged to $2.4M in 2022. In general, exports, however, faced a abrupt setback.
