The average non-liquid margarine import price stood at $2,124 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -7.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 12% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $2,486 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Finland ($2,271 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($1,988 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
