Nitrites Price in Australia (CIF) - 2022
The average nitrites import price stood at $1,105 per ton in 2022, surging by 27% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, nitrites import price increased by +66.1% against 2019 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,427 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($799 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to New Zealand (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the fourth year in a row, Australia recorded growth in overseas purchases of nitrites, which increased by 14% to 2.2K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
