The average nickel; unwrought, alloys import price stood at $29,400 per ton in 2022, declining by -50.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 28%. The import price peaked at $88,771 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($47,000 per ton), while the price for India ($1,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

For the third year in a row, Iraq recorded decline in purchases abroad of nickel; unwrought, alloyses, which decreased by -73.7% to 5 kg in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a sharp descent. The smallest decline of -59.6% was in 2021.
In value terms, nickel; unwrought, alloys imports shrank remarkably to $147 in 2022. In general, imports faced a sharp decline. The smallest decline of -63.8% was in 2020.
