Molluscs Price in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022
The average molluscs export price stood at $4,561 per ton in March 2022, with an increase of 15% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Italy ($6,920 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($3,082 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Molluscs Price in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022
In March 2022, the average molluscs import price amounted to $2,275 per ton, waning by -32.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a mild increase from March 2021 to March 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on March 2022 figures, molluscs import price decreased by -32.7% against February 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 48% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $3,382 per ton in February 2022, and then shrank notably in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($2,340 per ton), while the price for Japan totaled $1,452 per ton.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Molluscs Exports in Indonesia
In 2022, approx. 156K tons of molluscs (scallops, mussels, cuttle fish, squid and octopus) were exported from Indonesia; dropping by -6.3% compared with 2021. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period.
