In September 2023, the average metals; platinum, semi-manufactured export price amounted to $28.9M per ton, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 12% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $33.3M per ton in April 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to September 2023.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($30.8M per ton), while the average price for exports to China stood at $28.8M per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average metals; platinum, semi-manufactured import price amounted to $34,003,428 per ton, surging by 29% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a perceptible downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $42,662,593 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($39,230,510 per ton), while the price for Switzerland ($3,022,625 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+10.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
