Metals; Platinum, Semi-Manufactured Price in Austria (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average metals; platinum, semi-manufactured import price amounted to $37.2M per ton, with an increase of 9.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 50% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $52,375 per kg. From December 2022 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($38.4M per ton), while the price for Sweden ($32.4M per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average metals; platinum, semi-manufactured export price stood at $33.8M per ton in August 2023, approximately equating the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 17% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $40.8M per ton in April 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to August 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($44.6M per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($10.8M per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, imports of metals; platinum, semi-manufactureds into Austria skyrocketed to 2.4 tons, increasing by 16% compared with the year before.
