The average mammals; live, primates import price stood at $2,039 per unit in 2022, which is down by -27% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 92%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,580 per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($3,143 per unit), while the price for the UK ($1,711 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+18.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
