Maltodextrine Price in Bulgaria (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average maltodextrine import price amounted to $1,849 per ton, remaining constant against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a buoyant expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, maltodextrine import price increased by +24.3% against March 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 31% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,849 per ton in June 2023, and then fell modestly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,716 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($1,047 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Maltodextrine Price in Bulgaria (FOB) - 2023
The average maltodextrine export price stood at $1,837 per ton in July 2023, which is down by -2.1% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated a noticeable increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, maltodextrine export price increased by +42.5% against January 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 26% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,876 per ton in June 2023, and then declined in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Poland ($1,891 per ton) and Romania ($1,837 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($1,542 per ton) and the Netherlands ($1,678 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (+8.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Maltodextrine Imports in Bulgaria
For the fourth consecutive year, Bulgaria recorded growth in purchases abroad of maltodextrine and maltodextine syrup, which increased by 32% to 6.8K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +27.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +108.8% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 52% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, maltodextrine imports skyrocketed to $8.6M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +21.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +78.2% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
