Maize Bran Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
The average maize bran import price stood at $524 per ton in September 2022, with a decrease of -4.4% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a perceptible expansion from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, maize bran import price decreased by -12.8% against May 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2022 an increase of 40% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $601 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Malaysia.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for India amounted to +11.1% per month.
Maize Bran Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average maize bran export price amounted to $143 per ton, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 53%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $544 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($688 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($57 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Maize Bran Imports in Singapore
In 2022, overseas purchases of maize bran increased by 11% to 31K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep slump.
In value terms, maize bran imports declined to $8.6M in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 16%.
