Lubricant Additives Price in Qatar (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average lubricant additives import price amounted to $2,387 per ton, dropping by -43.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 when the average import price increased by 46% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5,500 per ton. From August 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($9,885 per ton), while the price for India ($942 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Lubricant Additives Price in Qatar (FOB) - 2022
In 2015, the average lubricant additives export price amounted to $1,717 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a precipitous decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 a decrease of 99.9% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $5,595 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2015, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2015, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($3,434 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($1,126 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2015, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (-14.7%).
Lubricant Additives Imports in Qatar
For the fourth consecutive year, Qatar recorded growth in supplies from abroad of prepared additives for mineral oils, which increased by 41% to 4.3K tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +54.5% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, lubricant additives imports surged to $17M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, overseas shipments of prepared additives for mineral oils were finally on the rise to reach 21 tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt setback.
