Liquefied Propane Price in Slovenia (CIF) - 2022
The average liquefied propane import price stood at $861 per ton in 2022, increasing by 16% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 53% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $994 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Austria ($900 per ton) and Hungary ($873 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($806 per ton) and Italy ($836 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Liquefied Propane Price in Slovenia (FOB) - 2023
The average liquefied propane export price stood at $788 per ton in August 2023, rising by 5.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $904 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($851 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria stood at $759 per ton.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Liquefied Propane Imports in Slovenia
In 2022, approx. 37K tons of liquefied propanes were imported into Slovenia; with a decrease of -3.3% against 2021. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 17%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 39K tons, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
In value terms, liquefied propane imports rose notably to $32M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 79%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Liquefied Propane Exports in Slovenia
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of liquefied propanes, when their volume decreased by -46.7% to 6.1K tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a noticeable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 88% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 11K tons, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, liquefied propane exports reduced to $5.3M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 85% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $6M, and then shrank in the following year.
