Liquefied Propane Price in Hungary (CIF) - 2023

In August 2023, the average liquefied propane import price amounted to $773 per ton, growing by 7.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 16% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $959 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Slovakia ($842 per ton) and Austria ($832 per ton), while the price for Russia ($576 per ton) and Germany ($577 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Liquefied Propane Price in Hungary (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average liquefied propane export price amounted to $796 per ton, surging by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,007 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Slovenia ($875 per ton) and Croatia ($841 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($689 per ton) and Poland ($719 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+31.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, liquefied propane imports into Hungary shrank notably to 146K tons, waning by -25.2% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 6.7% against the previous year.
