Liquefied Propane Price in Croatia (CIF) - 2022

The average liquefied propane import price stood at $859 per ton in 2022, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a mild descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $984 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($1,179 per ton), while the price for France ($767 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+29.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average liquefied propane export price amounted to $844 per ton, increasing by 6.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 46% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,028 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($870 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($791 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (-1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Liquefied Propane Imports in Croatia

For the fourth year in a row, Croatia recorded growth in purchases abroad of liquefied propanes, which increased by 38% to 18K tons in 2022. In general, imports posted significant growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, liquefied propane imports surged to $16M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 63%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

Liquefied Propane Exports in Croatia

In 2022, approx. 4.7K tons of liquefied propanes were exported from Croatia; increasing by 2% on the previous year. Overall, exports, however, showed a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 24%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 7.1K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, liquefied propane exports expanded remarkably to $4M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
