Liquefied Butanes Price in South Africa (FOB) - 2023

In September 2023, the average liquefied butanes export price amounted to $677 per ton, increasing by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 23% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $994 per ton. From April 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Lesotho ($894 per ton) and Swaziland ($868 per ton), while the average price for exports to Zimbabwe ($649 per ton) and Botswana ($661 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Namibia (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
