The average liquefied butanes export price stood at $607 per ton in 2022, remaining stable against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, liquefied butanes export price decreased by -24.1% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 75%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $800 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($631 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($386 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average liquefied butanes import price stood at $1,329 per ton in 2022, increasing by 5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a moderate expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 336% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $1,996 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Liquefied Butanes Imports in Oman
