Liquefied Butanes Price in India (CIF) - 2023

The average liquefied butanes import price stood at $545 per ton in September 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 17% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $822 per ton. From April 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Singapore ($551 per ton) and Kuwait ($547 per ton), while the price for Norway ($500 per ton) and Russia ($541 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (-1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average liquefied butanes export price stood at $3,997 per ton in 2022, remaining stable against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 836% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,997 per ton, leveling off in the following year.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the UK.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the UK amounted to +53.4% per year.

In 2022, shipments abroad of liquefied butaneses was finally on the rise to reach 38 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, recorded a sharp reduction.
