Lentil Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023

In June 2023, the average lentil import price amounted to $1,135 per ton, with an increase of 7.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 20% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,305 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($1,710 per ton), while the price for Russia ($876 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Lentil Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023

In June 2023, the average lentil export price amounted to $1,654 per ton, falling by -2.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 81% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $1,855 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($4,135 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($939 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+13.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Lentil Imports in Poland

In 2022, the amount of lentils imported into Poland surged to 6K tons, increasing by 28% on the previous year. Overall, imports, however, recorded a mild decline.

In value terms, lentil imports soared to $7.4M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +21.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +79.7% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Lentil Exports in Poland

For the fourth consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in overseas shipments of lentils, which increased by 21% to 2.2K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 64% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, lentil exports soared to $3.2M in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 68% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
