The average lentil import price stood at $1,043 per ton in February 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period from February 2021 to February 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2021 an increase of 7.6% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in February 2022.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2022, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($1,246 per ton), while the price for the United States ($891 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Canada (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average lentil export price stood at $1,279 per ton in February 2022, approximately reflecting the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a notable expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2021 an increase of 39% against the previous month. The export price peaked in February 2022.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Venezuela.

Lentil Imports in Colombia
