Leather Footwear Price in Guatemala (CIF) - 2023

In October 2023, the average leather footwear import price amounted to $39.1 per pair, falling by -8.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 26% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $42.7 per pair in September 2023, and then declined in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Mexico ($49.1 per pair), while the price for Brazil ($32.5 per pair) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bangladesh (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Leather Footwear Price in Guatemala (FOB) - 2023

In October 2023, the average leather footwear export price amounted to $64.9 per pair, rising by 2.5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 18% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $66.5 per pair in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was El Salvador ($129 per pair), while the average price for exports to Costa Rica ($58.3 per pair) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to El Salvador (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Leather Footwear Imports in Guatemala

Leather footwear imports into Guatemala amounted to 940K pairs in 2022, increasing by 8% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, showed a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 55%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at 986K pairs in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, leather footwear imports expanded markedly to $27M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +79.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 62%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
