Leather Apparel Price in the United States (CIF) - 2022

The average leather apparel import price stood at $90 per unit in 2022, increasing by 2.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt slump. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $102 per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($479 per unit), while the price for Pakistan ($31 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2020 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average leather apparel export price amounted to $23 per unit, reducing by -47.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 33% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $44 per unit, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, leather apparel imports soared to $354M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a temperate expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +72.0% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
