Kiwi Fruit Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
In March 2023, the average kiwi fruit export price amounted to $844 per ton, increasing by 34% against the previous month. Over the last eight-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $851 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to March 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,374 per ton), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($119 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Kiwi Fruit Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average kiwi fruit import price amounted to $410 per ton, growing by 67% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible reduction. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $848 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Greece ($1,958 per ton), while the price for Iran ($282 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Greece (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Kiwi Fruit Exports in Turkey
For the fourth consecutive year, Turkey recorded growth in shipments abroad of kiwi fruits, which increased by 28% to 12K tons in 2022. In general, exports posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 93% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, kiwi fruit exports reduced to $9.1M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 129% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $9.5M, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
