The average hand saws import price stood at $14,885 per ton in August 2023, surging by 33% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.8%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($31,636 per ton), while the price for China ($8,531 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average hand saws export price stood at $9,360 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average export price increased by 50%. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+24.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
