In 2022, the average gum arabic import price amounted to $2,896 per ton, jumping by 20% against the previous year. Overall, the import price enjoyed a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 128% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $5,499 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($8,740 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($1,429 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Nigeria (+5.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Gum Arabic Imports in Bangladesh

In value terms, gum arabic imports stood at $276K in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
