Groundnuts Price in Thailand (CIF) - 2023
The average groundnuts import price stood at $641 per ton in July 2023, reducing by -5.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 64% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,703 per ton. From December 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($1,771 per ton), while the price for Lao People's Democratic Republic amounted to $618 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Groundnuts Price in Thailand (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average groundnuts export price amounted to $1,224 per ton, falling by -22.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 314% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $1,707 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lao People's Democratic Republic ($2,062 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($391 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+27.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Groundnuts Imports in Thailand
Groundnuts imports into Thailand shrank to 9.1K tons in 2022, with a decrease of -8.8% compared with the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 20%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 10K tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, groundnuts imports declined to $7.3M in 2022. Groundnuts Exports in Thailand
