Granite Building Stone Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average granite building stone import price amounted to $334 per ton, picking up by 25% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a perceptible contraction. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $462 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($436 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($216 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Granite Building Stone Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average granite building stone export price amounted to $267 per ton, picking up by 20% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 26% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $318 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Syrian Arab Republic ($849 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($95.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Granite Building Stone Imports in Turkey
In 2022, supplies from abroad of granite building stone decreased by -13% to 121K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 6.4%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 156K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, granite building stone imports declined to $51M in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 14% against the previous year.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 82%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, granite building stone exports surged to $32M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 50%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
