Glucose Price in Norway (CIF) - 2022

The average glucose import price stood at $1,007 per ton in 2022, reducing by -5.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a slight reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 13%. The import price peaked at $1,160 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($1,309 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($682 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lithuania (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Glucose Price in Norway (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average glucose export price amounted to $4,206 per ton, standing approx. at the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate pronounced growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 926%. The export price peaked at $16,053 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Sweden.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Faroe Islands amounted to +39.2% per year.

Glucose Imports in Norway

In 2022, the amount of glucose and glucose syrup imported into Norway amounted to 3.1K tons, almost unchanged from the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 20% against the previous year.
