Fruit Price in Israel (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average fruit export price amounted to $1,427 per ton, which is down by -5.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 18%. The export price peaked at $1,507 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($1,958 per ton), while the average price for exports to Luxembourg ($120 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+8.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Fruit Price in Israel (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average fruit import price amounted to $1,343 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 18%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,881 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($2,446 per ton), while the price for the Dominican Republic ($1,026 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (-0.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Fruit Exports in Israel

In 2022, overseas shipments of fruits increased by 10% to 362K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports saw a slight expansion. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, fruit exports reached $516M in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 4.7% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Fruit Imports in Israel

For the fourth year in a row, Israel recorded growth in purchases abroad of fruits, which increased by 12% to 96K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, fruit imports expanded sharply to $129M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +13.2% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 17%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
