Frozen Whole Fish Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In September 2022, the average frozen whole fish import price amounted to $12,289 per ton, increasing by 45% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated temperate growth from January 2022 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% over the last eight months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, frozen whole fish import price increased by +45.3% against August 2022 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha ($42,262 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($2,370 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+28.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Whole Fish Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
In September 2022, the average frozen whole fish export price amounted to $14,082 per ton, shrinking by -17.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a noticeable curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 an increase of 88% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $23,700 per ton in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($46,662 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,098 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+24.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Whole Fish Imports in Singapore
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of frozen whole fish decreased by -14.9% to 24K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 6.5% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 29K tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, frozen whole fish imports soared to $178M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Frozen Whole Fish Exports in Singapore
For the third year in a row, Singapore recorded decline in shipments abroad of frozen whole fish, which decreased by -13.1% to 6.9K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The smallest decline of -3.3% was in 2021.
In value terms, frozen whole fish exports rose markedly to $83M in 2022. Overall, exports saw a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 15%.
