Frozen Whole Fish Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
The average frozen whole fish export price stood at $1,661 per ton in January 2022, waning by -23.9% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated measured growth from January 2021 to January 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2022 figures, frozen whole fish export price decreased by -32.6% against September 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 an increase of 52% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,465 per ton. From October 2021 to January 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Japan ($6,117 per ton), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($737 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Whole Fish Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
The average frozen whole fish import price stood at $2,813 per ton in January 2022, picking up by 6.6% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to January 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2021 an increase of 19% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $3,394 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to January 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Chile ($6,940 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($838 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Whole Fish Exports in Russia
Frozen whole fish exports from Russia expanded significantly to 1.5M tons in 2022, with an increase of 9.8% on 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern.
In value terms, frozen whole fish exports contracted to $2.4B in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a mild slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 1.8% against the previous year.
