Frozen Whole Fish Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average frozen whole fish import price amounted to $2,006 per ton, surging by 21% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 27% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,602 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($7,181 per ton), while the price for Oman ($893 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Whole Fish Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average frozen whole fish export price amounted to $3,385 per ton, dropping by -15.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 62% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,773 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,918 per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($756 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cabo Verde (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 104K tons of frozen whole fish were imported into Brazil; shrinking by -7.1% on the year before. In general, imports showed a pronounced descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 8.9% against the previous year.
