The average frozen tilapias import price stood at $2,357 per ton in June 2023, growing by 3.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 10% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,891 per ton in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,612 per ton), while the price for China stood at $2,168 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Frozen Tilapias Price in Canada (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average frozen tilapias export price amounted to $2,597 per ton, with a decrease of -18.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw resilient growth.
