In 2022, the average frozen tilapia fillets export price amounted to $3,598 per ton, rising by 31% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 41%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $6,281 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to -2.4% per year.

The average frozen tilapia fillets import price stood at $3,150 per ton in 2022, falling by -14.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 30%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,194 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
