In September 2022, the average frozen strawberries import price amounted to $5,150 per ton, rising by 10% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a tangible increase from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, frozen strawberries import price increased by +65.2% against June 2022 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2022 an increase of 63% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $5,803 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($7,079 per ton), while the price for China ($1,691 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 138%. The export price peaked at $6,592 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bangladesh ($10,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to Timor-Leste ($4,091 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bangladesh (+18.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of frozen strawberrieses decreased by -15.4% to 250 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, total imports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.1% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +64.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 296 tons, and then fell notably in the following year.
In value terms, frozen strawberries imports fell to $835K in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +46.0% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 32% against the previous year.
