The average frozen strawberries import price stood at $2,470 per ton in December 2021, increasing by 9.6% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a noticeable expansion from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, frozen strawberries import price increased by +70.0% against October 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2021 an increase of 55% against the previous month. The import price peaked in December 2021.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($3,356 per ton), while the price for China stood at $2,382 per ton.
