Frozen Strawberries Price in Guatemala (CIF) - 2022
The average frozen strawberries import price stood at $2,471 per ton in 2022, picking up by 5.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 167% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $3,884 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,009 per ton), while the price for Peru ($1,685 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In June 2023, the average frozen strawberries export price amounted to $2,489 per ton, approximately equating the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 17% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $4,948 per ton. From December 2022 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the United States amounted to -0.4% per month.
Frozen Strawberries Imports in Guatemala
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of frozen strawberrieses, when their volume decreased by -19.6% to 683 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 763%.
In value terms, frozen strawberries imports shrank remarkably to $1.7M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 489% against the previous year.
