In 2022, the average frozen strawberries import price amounted to $1,639 per ton, with an increase of 3.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 17%. The import price peaked at $1,679 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($2,248 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($1,187 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In June 2023, the average frozen strawberries export price amounted to $2,203 per ton, falling by -3.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 16% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,362 per ton. From January 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($3,268 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($1,533 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of frozen strawberrieses decreased by -30.4% to 22K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports saw a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 35K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, frozen strawberries imports declined dramatically to $37M in 2022. In general, imports recorded a pronounced decrease.
