Frozen Salmonoids Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2022

In 2022, the average frozen salmonoids import price amounted to $1,331 per ton, remaining stable against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, frozen salmonoids import price decreased by -37.8% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 63% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,255 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,462 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,138 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+38.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average frozen salmonoids export price stood at $1,663 per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -32.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 83% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,739 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($3,755 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands totaled $1,655 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+44.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Frozen Salmonoids Imports in Lithuania

For the third consecutive year, Lithuania recorded decline in overseas purchases of frozen salmonoids, which decreased by -50.9% to 85 tons in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a precipitous curtailment. The smallest decline of -15.3% was in 2021.

In value terms, frozen salmonoids imports shrank significantly to $113K in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a dramatic contraction. The smallest decline of -43.4% was in 2020.

Frozen Salmonoids Exports in Lithuania

In 2022, frozen salmonoids exports from Lithuania amounted to 14 tons, remaining constant against 2021 figures. In general, exports, however, faced a precipitous decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 57%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 114 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, frozen salmonoids exports reduced dramatically to $24K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a dramatic contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 33% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $319K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
