Frozen Lobster Price in Belgium (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average frozen lobster import price amounted to $17,984 per ton, with a decrease of -59.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 82% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $44,213 per ton, and then plummeted in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($39,893 per ton), while the price for Canada ($17,338 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Frozen Lobster Price in Belgium (FOB) - 2023
The average frozen lobster export price stood at $30,246 per ton in June 2023, declining by -33.9% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 524% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $58,631 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($61,561 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($24,543 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Lobster Imports in Belgium
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of frozen lobster, when their volume decreased by -51.4% to 528 tons. In general, imports, however, enjoyed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 73%.
In value terms, frozen lobster imports contracted remarkably to $14M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 87%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $25M, and then declined notably in the following year.

Frozen Lobster Exports in Belgium
In 2022, overseas shipments of frozen lobster decreased by -71.5% to 239 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 77%.
In value terms, frozen lobster exports fell dramatically to $7.9M in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 89% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $18M, and then fell markedly in the following year.
