Frozen Freshwater Fish Price in Switzerland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average frozen freshwater fish import price amounted to $4,405 per ton, with a decrease of -25.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 44% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $6,030 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,159 per ton), while the price for China ($2,281 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average frozen freshwater fish export price stood at $2,892 per ton in 2022, picking up by 212% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for the Netherlands.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Benin amounted to +7.7% per year.
