In July 2023, the average frozen chicken cut import price amounted to $756 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $822 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($1,284 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($701 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+15.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
