In July 2023, the average frozen chicken cut import price amounted to $2,952 per ton, flattening at the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 8.8% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $3,009 per ton in April 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($4,149 per ton), while the price for Ireland ($1,693 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average frozen chicken cut export price amounted to $1,660 per ton, with a decrease of -15.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $1,965 per ton in June 2023, and then shrank markedly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($5,934 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($758 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Frozen Chicken Cut Imports in France
In 2022, the amount of frozen cuts of chicken imported into France rose notably to 160K tons, increasing by 8.4% on 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
