The average fromwork import price stood at $12,694 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 21% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 332% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($22,946 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($1,289 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Canada (+27.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average fromwork export price amounted to $38,066 per ton, growing by 1.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 347%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($64,890 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($2,188 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Antigua and Barbuda (+15.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fromwork Imports in the United States
